LOS ANGELES—The famous “Pulp Fiction” legend John Travolta has vowed to look after James Gandolfini’s family, following his tragic death.

During an interview with “Good Morning America” on Thursday, June 20, Travolta said his "goal is to make sure that their family is OK, and reminisced about the special friendship that he shared with Gandolfini. According to Travolta, the actor flew all the way to Florida to console him following the fatal seizure his son suffered in 2009.

Travolta recalled that Gandolfini had not left his side until he made sure that Travolta felt fine. For Travolta, the idea that “someone in the film industry would go out of their way and not leave you until he felt that you were OK” was what made Gandolfini special in his opinion. “That’s the kind of soul that James Gandolfini was” Travolta reminisced. Gandolfini is survived by his wife Deborah Lin and their daughter, Liliana, 8 months, and his first son, Michael, 13, from his first marriage.

He says that the “whole idea is to make sure that they are taken of.” He says that he watched Gandolfini’s little boy grow up, and now he wants to make sure that they are all fine, including his new daughter.

The two actors starred together in “Get Shorty,” “Lonely Hearts” and “The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3.”
