Lindsay Lohan Ordered Back Into Jail Custody
Posted by Tommy Garrett on Apr 22, 2011 - 8:40:37 PM

LOS ANGELES—On Friday afternoon, Lindsay Lohan was ordered back to jail. An L.A. Judge with California Superior Court decided that she was in violation of her probation after being arrested for grand theft, which involved her alleged theft of a necklace from a famed Venice Beach jewelry store. Lohan was taken out of court and driven to nearby Lynwood Correctional Facility, where she remains at this hour.

Lindsay Lohan was ordered back for a 120 day sentence issued by Judge Stephanie Sautner. Judge Sautner stated that the evidence she heard so far in the case regarding Lohan’s alleged theft of a necklace worth $2,500 was in violation of her probation, and she should stand trial for it. The judge added a stern warning by saying, during the hearing, “Perhaps [Lohan] might see how women who have fallen on real hard times have to live and maybe she will change.” Upon the ruling, Lohan seemed disoriented and in shock, while crying and whispering to her attorney as she was taken into custody by the court bailiffs.

The actress’s attorney scrambled to file an immediate appeal to the ruling, and it was obvious that neither the attorney nor her client expected this ruling. She also immediately contacted a bailsman service to secure and post the $75,000 for bail pending the appeal of the case.

Lohan is to stand trial on June 3, for a reduced misdemeanor charge of stealing a necklace that allegedly occurred in January. Just hours earlier, Lohan, the star of “Machete” and “The Parent Trap,” was awarded one victory in the case, when the judge lowered the felony charge she was facing to a misdemeanor. The judge mentioned that Lohan may have been punished for her 2007 drunken driving and cocaine possession case, but that her actions and behavior since the resolution of that case has called her integrity and worthiness for probation into question.

Since 2007, Lindsay Lohan has been in and out of rehab and jail. She has been booked five times in the past few years and her career has been at a virtual standstill. No word on if this latest ruling by Judge Sautner will affect her casting in the role as Victoria Gotti, the daughter of former mob boss John Gotti, which Lohan was given earlier this week. Lohan apparently received support to be hired for the film by Victoria Gotti and the main star and producer of the film John Travolta, who will play John Gotti.

Calls to Lohan’s attorney were not returned by press time.
