LOS ANGELES—According to California Highway Patrol, officers attempted to pull a motorcyclist over for speeding near the Rancho Cucamonga area in the San Bernardino County at approximately 3:30 p.m.

From San Bernardino County, the motorcyclist led patrol cars, police motorcycles and helicopters on a high-speed chase through the San Gabriel Valley on Wednesday, June 5, heading west into Los Angeles County.

The motorcyclist reportedly weaved in and out of lanes, and even managed to give pursuing officers an obscene gesture at one point in the chase.

Reports said the motorcyclist would sometimes punch the side mirrors off vehicles as he passed them on the freeway before he swerved into a construction zone in North Hollywood, where he fell off his bike and was arrested.

According to CHP Officer Ming Shu, the motorcyclist was traveling at speeds up to 90 mph during the chase.
