SHERMAN OAKS—Traffic on southbound I-405 is expected to be diverted late Monday night after the construction-heavy Coldwater Canyon Avenue reopens.
Construction continues on Mulholland Drive bridge.
Work to rebuild the second half of Mulholland Drive bridge continues, prompting Metro officials to redirect southbound 405 traffic from the San Fernando Valley to the Westside. Roads and on-ramps to the southbound 405 are expected to begin closing at 7 p.m. on Monday, 4/1. The freeway lanes are expected to close down by 10 p.m., and by midnight, all southbound traffic will be blocked between the 101 Freeway and Getty Center Drive.
The 405 Freeway is scheduled to reopen Tuesday morning by 5 a.m., however, heavy rain could potentially delay construction, causing the entire project to be postponed.
According to Metro officials, southbound “old” Sepulveda Boulevard will remain open for traffic during the 405 closure. Metro is also posting info on Facebook and Twitter about the closures.
