LOS ANGELES—Four streets surrounding Staples Center were closed on Tuesday, July 7, for Michael Jackson’s memorial tribute.

Flower Street to the east of Staples Center, Olympic Boulevard to the north, Pico Boulevard to the south and Blaine Street to the west were all closed as of Monday night, according to Richard French, spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department.  Only those with tickets to the memorial were allowed in the area.

Those with tickets to the Michael Jackson memorial tribute were the only ones allowed to enter the streets near Staples Center Tuesday.

French told Canyon News the crowd near Staples Center began dispersing rapidly on Tuesday afternoon, and businesses were able to operate again at that time.

“Everything has pretty much returned to normal,” said French.
