LOS ANGELES—On Friday, March 8, a police standoff in Watts left two men dead. The gunman killed a man, than opened fire on the police, as he hid inside a house with three children inside before killing himself.

The standoff began at around 3:00 a.m. due to a domestic dispute. The gunman fatally wounded a man outside the house in a truck and shot at police as they arrived on to the scene.  No officers were injured. The gunman retreated into the house, where two children, an 8-year-old boy, and a 3-year-old girl came out to the front of the house and said their mom and dad were dead.

At about 5:00 a.m., the officers made their way into the home and found the gunman dead due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The woman appeared to be dead, but was later taken to the hospital in critical condition. A one-year old boy was also found inside the home unharmed. The children are currently in police custody until relatives can be contacted.
