Los Feliz Catches Angelino Eyes

Feliz
LOS FELIZ—On the corner of Hollywood Boulevard. and N. Vermont Avenue is the Los Feliz Village sign welcoming both native and visitors alike to one of Los Angles hip and up-and-coming neighborhoods.

Los Feliz native, Victor Vallejo, has seen over the years how Los Feliz has changed since living there from 1973. According to Vallejo, between Franklin Avenue to Hollywood Boulevard is where the bohemian, actor, writer, producer all can be found.

The city is getting a run for its money with a name like "Feliz" meaning "Happy" in Spanish. It is no wonder creative folks flock to this tiny nest near two Los Angeles movie stars, the Griffith Park Observatory and the Hollywood sign.

The city has a laundry list of co-ops, vintage boutiques, second hand shops, bookstores, cafes, theaters, restaurants and so much more. It also happens to be home of one of America’s favorite pies, House of Pies and also the home of American heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio who recently portrayed Jay Gatsby in Baz Luhermann’s adaptation of “The Great Gatsby.” “It’s one of the best neighborhoods in LA”¦easily top 15 to 10,” Vallejo told Canyon News.
