Arrests At DUI Checkpoints

MALIBU—A DUI checkpoint at Carbon Canyon Road and Pacific Coast Highway on Friday, August 30, led to 27 arrests. During the checkpoint, held between 7 p.m. and 4 a.m., two people were arrested for driving under the influence and 25 others for various other miscellaneous violations.


Out of the 2,786 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint, there was also a driver arrested for possession of controlled substances, three arrested for outstanding warrants and one other driver arrested for felony of grand theft. There were also eight other drivers sent to court for driving with a suspended or revoked license and six others were arrested for not having their licenses with them while driving.


An additional seven vehicles were impounded for 30 days and four vehicles were stored for one day.
