City Of Malibu Hosts Student Art Show

MALIBU—This February, the Malibu City Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the Malibu Student Art Show at the Michael Landon Center in Malibu Bluffs Park.

On Saturday, February 2, and Sunday, February 3, K-12 students who either attend a Malibu school or reside in the city of Malibu will have the chance to showcase their artwork for the general public and receive recognition for their work displayed in the art gallery at the Michael Landon center, located at 24250 Pacific Coast Highway.


The deadline for submission is Monday, January 28 before 5:00 p.m. Students can submit their work at the Michael Landon Center or at Malibu’s City hall, located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Road.


All artists will be recognized, and their work will be displayed at the gallery on Saturday, February 2 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, February 3 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. A reception with light refreshments will be held on the same Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

 

There will be two categories from which students can chose to enter their work, either competition, which will be judged, or show, which will not be judged. All artwork must be mounted or matted and not framed. Only one work may be submitted and all mediums are accepted. There is a $5 entrance fee, however, admission to the show and reception is free to the public.
