LA County Sheriff's Department.

According to reports, 32-year-old
Jaci Armando Barragon kidnapped his ex-girlfriend in the South Gate-area overnight. He then drove to Malibu and sexually assaulted the woman in her car. The woman had a restraining order against Barragon after dating him for about three months. The unidentified victim allegedly filed 16 police reports against Barragon in the past for stalking and terrorist threats.

Deputies arrived at the scene at about 2 a.m. after a Nissan Sentra that was reported stolen was found in the Huntington Park area. It was not immediately clear when the actual theft took place.

The suspect and the woman were both in the car which was parked on the shoulder of PCH. A deputy attempted to handcuff the man, but Barragon managed to knock the officer down and ran north toward Corral Canyon Road.

A canine unit was used at the location and deputies had areas of the PCH blocked as the search commenced. The road block was not removed until approximately 9 a.m. The search ended at 10 a.m. and Solstice Canyon reopened at 11 a.m.

Barragon was barefoot at the time and wearing a black tank top and jean. He was described as five-feet eight-inches tall with a weight of about 145 pounds. He is Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes.

Deputies reported that drug paraphernalia as well as rounds for a pistol were found in the vehicle.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The officer who attempted to arrest the suspect was also treated for hand injuries.

Barragon was arrested at around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29 after he spent hours barricaded inside a home near 60th Street and Atlantic Boulevard. The suspect finally vacated the residence when deputies used teaer gas.
