Five Hikers Rescued In Malibu

MALIBU—At 9:45 p.m. on Easter Sunday, Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Ed Pickett received a call for help. A group of five hikers had debilitated themselves after hiking farther than intended in Malibu Creek State Park, and failing bring enough water.

After Malibu Search and Rescue workers, along with Los Angeles County Firefighters were dispatched, it took nearly 90 minutes to locate the team of dehydrated hikers. Pickett explained that the hikers were found near the Bulldog Motorway and Castro Peak Motorway at 11:15 p.m.

Beginning just outside Malibu, in Corral Canyon, the hike goes up into the Santa Monica Mountains near Agoura Hills.

According to reports, the hikers were in good enough condition to be transported back to their vehicles.
