MALIBU—The city of Malibu is joining the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department to host a free seminar on teen driver safety on Tuesday, October 8.

The seminar, which is called “Is Your Teen Road Ready?,” is being held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the multipurpose room at City Hall at 23825 Stuart Ranch Road, according to the event flyer.

The seminar is part of Sheriff’s Teen Traffic Offender Program (STTOP), which is “intended to help teens and parents understand laws, license requirements, and restrictions that apply to young drivers,” according to the site. During the seminar, parents will receive “valuable information before they hand over the car keys to their teen."

There will be guest speakers, including officers from the Sheriff’s station, California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) staff and an instructor from the Elite Driving School.
