Improv And Comedy On Youth's Agenda

MALIBUThe Malibu Civic Theater will be the place of laughter when the Youth and Teen Sketch Comedy Improv show takes place Friday, March 15.

The show is run by director Shoshana Kuttner who is the executive director of the organization hosting the event called Young ACTors Project. The program offers children and teens from ages five to 18 acting and performing arts classes to help students achieve artistic creativity as well as being a benefactor to the Malibu community.

The improv show will be open to the public and provide fun and family entertainment for everyone in the Malibu area. The show is only on its second year, but an attendance of 150-200 make it to the theater to watch students perform comic sketches.


The youth group ranges from kids ages eight to ten and the teens make up ages 13 to 18. Open since 2005, Youth ACTors Project is divided by Fall and Spring terms and specializes techniques in audition, rehearsal and performance.

For the Comedy Improv show, Kuttner says to expect the unexpected from the talented youngsters putting on the show.

“You never what you’ll get,” said Kuttner, “All we do know is that you’ll get a root beer float!”

The event will take place at the Malibu City Hall at 7:00 p.m. The event is open to the public and tickets are on sale at $5. Light refreshments will be served. For more information about the Young ACTors program or the upcoming comedy event, visit
