MALIBU—Samantha Rattz, 22, was arrested for DUI and property damage after crashing into a utility pole that resulted in a power outage for parts of Pacific Coast Highway on Thursday, March 15.

The suspect drover her 2012 Honda Accord into a utility pole at around 11:15 p.m. While no other individuals were injured during the crash, Rattz suffered a few minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. She was later arrested and taken to the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's station.

Rattz was released after posting $10,000 bail on Tuesday, March 19. The accident resulted in a power outage near the Big Rock area, and was closed off as the utility company, Edison repaired the damage.

This is not Rattz's first run-in with the law as she was arrested in Wilmington, NC in January 2010 for possession of marijuana, with the intent to distribute, and possession of paraphernalia.
