MALIBU—The city has opened wave to up-in-coming musicians hoping to showcase their talents with a Battle of the Bands extravaganza.
Hosted by both the Youth Commission of The Harry Barovsky Memorial and the Boys and Girls Club of Malibu Teen Center, the event will be open to any bands looking to battle for cash prizes and perform their talents to the city residents.
The Youth Commission of Malibu has provided events and programs specifically for young teens to become more involved in the community and become more aware of the city’s policies and organizations.
Bands will compete for first, second and third place positions and will feature bands only from middle to high school grades.

The Battle of the Bands event will also feature food trucks and raffles for prizes for those attending to watch the event. Targeting more the youth of Malibu city, the event is family-friendly and prohibits any performance with misconduct or inappropriate lyrics or showmanship.
The event is open to the public and tickets are on sale for $5. The location of the event is at the Malibu City Hall, Friday, April 19 at 6 p.m. For more information, visit http://www.malibucity.org/news.
