MALIBU—The Malibu City Council announced that Malipalooza's 2012 annual summer community festival will take place on August 25 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Malibu Bluffs Park, located on Pacific Coast Highway at Malibu Canyon Road.
Admission is free and the festival is open to all members of the public. The event will feature live music from "Stack of 40's," "Destiny," "The Suspenders" and the Malibu Senior Choir, as well as performances by the Malibu High School Cheerleading Squad, Young Actors Project, and Malibu Performance Group.
Other activities will include a 1950's car show, children's activities, bounce houses, merchandise vendors, crafts, and gourmet food trucks. The festival will conclude with a screening of the film "Grease" as part of the city's CineMalibu outdoor summer movie series.
The movie will begin at dusk, and it is recommended that viewers bring their own blankets and chairs.
Malipalooza debuted in 2007 as an opportunity to promote family-friendly activities and a sense of solidarity among members of the community. To learn more, call 310-317-1364.
