In total, roughly 1,460 vehicles passed through the checkpoint with 1,240 drivers checked by on-site personnel. From the drivers checked, deputies made nine arrests and one person was detained for a DUI. Two people were arrested for driving with revoked or suspended licenses. Another six drivers were arrested for being unlicensed and then sent to court.
In addition, two vehicles were impounded for 30 days; two additional vehicles were held for only one day; and five other vehicles were released “per checkpoint release procedures.”
The release also included some tips for designated drivers, which included arranging rides for friends, family and co-workers before any planned event. For parties, it was advised that the amount of drinks be cut down, while a good amount of food is properly doled out.
