MALIBU—This weekend, Malibu’s Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art will be exhibiting pop art for the public's viewing. The event will be on Saturday, September 15 from 5-7 p.m. at Pepperdine University.
Come see the vintage and iconic works of the pop artists Andy Warhol and Tom Wesselmann, among others. Explore the roots of the Pop Culture Movement from the 1960’s.
The pop culture era greatly influenced young artists to gather inspiration from around their everyday. A huge addition to art was the use of media, mainly the television. The new art form broke from Abstract Impressionists and embraced new themes such as the public life, mass society, irony, and humor.
The exhibit will be at the Weisman Museum of Art at Pepperdine University located at 24255 Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.
