MALIBU—With Earth Day right around the corner, Malibu continues its quest for better environmental living with its Smart Gardening workshop taking place Saturday, April 20.
The workshop encourages all residents and members of the community to attend free workshop sessions to educate and inform about the essentials of gardening. Attendees will learn how to attain their lawn and gardens and how to conserve water while limiting waste.
The event will take place at Malibu City Hall in the Multipurpose Room, located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Road, Malibu. The running time will last two hours from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. For information regarding this particular workshop in Malibu, contact the Environmental Programs Staff at 310-456-2489.
Los Angeles county will also host more gardening workshops throughout various cities on different dates. No reservations are needed for any of the workshops, and the event is free and open to the public.
Advanced sessions will also be available for those who are garden lovers or experts, and offer help in organic gardening, soil and landscaping designs. Videos from the sessions can be streamed online regarding the material covered. The only fees charged are for optional purchases for compost bins that will be sold.
