MALIBU—The Malibu Country Mart is dedicating one Sunday every month this summer to a showing of a free, family-friendly movie.
Families, shoppers and movie fans are encouraged to come with picnic baskets and blankets and join the fun in June, July and August where the Malibu Country Mart will show an outdoor film on the lawn as part of its first Summer Movie Series.
According to its Facebook page, “Summer in Malibu is all about enjoying time outdoors with the family, and what better way to spend a Sunday evening than watching a movie on the big screen under a cloudless moonlight sky.”
The movie schedule is:
June 9 – “The Endless Summer Revisited”
July 14 – “Madagascar”
August 11 – “The Goonies”
Each movie will start around 8:15 p.m., or 15 minutes after sunset.
Many local restaurants to the Malibu Country Mart, including Howdy’s Taqueria and John’s Garden, will stay open late on movie nights in order for guests to have a variety of take-out options and snacks during the movie.
