MALIBU—The local Coast Guard off the Malibu Coast received several calls for medical attention and subsequently made three rescues within the span of four days. All of the rescues took place off the Coast of Malibu either on or near Santa Cruz Island or Catalina Island.

On Friday, March 15, a four-year-old boy was reportedly having major respiratory problems and was rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard and transported to a local hospital via helicopter where he then received medical attention. Later that same morning, a 45-year-old man who was experiencing seizures and an ulcer was also taken to a local hospital by the Coast Guard and treated for his symptoms. Both rescues took place when the parties experienced health problems on Catalina Island.

On Monday, March 18, a 35-year-old crew member on a boat was rescued near Santa Cruz Island after experiencing chest pains and dizziness. He was brought back to the shore where he received medical attention.

All of this took place in the matter of four days with calls being made to the local Coast Guard off the Malibu Coast. The individuals are all reported to have received proper medical attention.
