MALIBU—A 36 year-old tow truck driver was rescued by the
Malibu Search and Rescue Team Saturday night after he slipped down a hillside
while trying to retrieve a motorcycle.
The Malibu Search and Rescue Team of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s responded to a call around 9:30 p.m. that the tow truck driver had slipped down a cliff and was clinging to the unstable hillside.
The tow truck driver had been trying to retrieve a motorcycle that had gone over the cliff during an accident earlier that day. The man was making his way down the hill with a cable when about 200 feet down, he lost his footing and slipped another 50 feet past the motorcycle.
The Search and Rescue Team reported that the man was lucky to find vegetation to grab onto. The darkness masked a sheer cliff just below where the stranded man had managed to stop his fall. © Copyright 2011 by canyon-news.com |
