Juliet Landau and James Marsters.
MELROSE—“Buffy” stars Juliet Landau and James Marsters are back together again on the Greenway Court Theatre in the new stage comedy “Bells of West 87th” by screenwriter Elin Hampton. The curtain rises on September 9.

The stars previously played the roles of popular undead couple Drusilla and Spike on the hit 90s television WB series, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

“The Bell of West 87th” is the story of Molly Fein, an almost 40, still single, amateur poet, who wants nothing more than a life separated from her over-the-top, dysfunctional, co-dependent parents, and her has-it-all younger sister Maxine. Things turn around after she meets someone in her night class, but when she decides to bring her poetry class boyfriend to meet-the-parents, she finds he is as loony as they are.

Elin Hampton is best-known for writing and producing television shows like “Mad About You,” “Dream On,” “Pinky and the Brain,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “The Jackie Thomas Show,” “Rugrats,” “House of Buggin’,” “Life’s Work” and “Baby Bob.”

Preview nights are September 5 and 6 with show times both on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m. located at 544 N. Fairfax Avenue.
