The new building is expected to hold school programs.
MELROSE—Improv school, The Groundlings, will be expanding their campus to occupy a two-story brick building on 7280 Melrose Avenue.

The Groundlings define themselves on their website site as “an improvisation and sketch comedy theatre that has been entertaining LA audiences for over 36 years.” The Groundlings was founded by Gary Austin in 1974; this year marks their 40th anniversary.

The school intends for the newly purchased building to become the location for school programs, such as classes since the school had originally been renting classroom space. The building is expected to be ready to host classes in 2015.
