MELROSE—On
December 8, Melrose Action reported that at least seven homes have been
burglarized in the Melrose area, the first incident occurring on
Nov. 30.
MELROSE—Police apprehended a man who allegedly assaulted an underage girl near Melrose Avenue and Alta Vista Boulevard. The attacker is a registered sex offender.
MELROSE—The Department of Transportation is posting signs with new operating hours for parking meters. The signs on the posts need to be changed with the hours displayed inside the meters.
On October 11, LAPD and the LA Sheriff's Department were called to an incident on Waring and Fuller Avenues involving four suspects. Police arrested one suspect after a robbery in the Melrose District.
Friday, April 25, a 21-year-old father of three children was shot and killed by two gang members around

Hobart Blvd. The victim was walking home after buying food for his family.
A fight which broke out between two groups of rival gangs on the night of Saturday the 12th at around 11:30 PM, just outside the back street of Norm’s Restaurant located in the 400 block of La Cienega Boulevard, left one dead from a fatal gunshot wound.
A fatal accident occured within the eastbound lanes of Melrose Avenue on Monday. A 28 year old Los Angeles man caused a four car, chain vehicle crash which left several people injured and sadly one woman dead.
Daniel Murphy Catholic High School for boys in the Fairfax District will cease to exist at the end of the 2007-2008 school year after an announcement made this week from the Los Angeles Archdiocese. The reasons are a decade-long decline in enrollment combined with increased operating costs and severe financial challenges faced by the Archdiocese accelerated the decision to close the school at the end of the current academic year, according to an Archdiocese press release.
