Consecutive Hiking Ankle Injuries

PACIFIC PALISADES—A 25-year-old female hiker was transported to a local hospital due to a possible ankle injury at Temescal Canyon Park on Sunday, June 26. The incident happened a day after a similar occurrence in the same area.
According to Cecil Manresa, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman, the victim was transported to the hospital in “stable condition” via air ambulance. The woman, who has remained unnamed by LAFD officials, was transported out of Temescal Canyon Park, on Temescal Canyon Road and Sunset Boulevard.
On June 25, LAFD officers reported a similar ankle injury in the same park area. An injured 70-year-old man was located near the waterfall around Temescal Canyon Road, at around 1:51 p.m., and was transported to a local hospital in fair condition, said LAFD spokesman Erik Scott in a statement.
No further information has been released on either incident.
Temescal Canyon Park is situated in the Santa Monica Mountains.
