PACIFIC PALISADES—A driver was caught after trying to leave the scene of a hit-and-run incident on Tuesday, August 6 at 9:00 a.m.

The accident was discovered by a resident who noticed two battered vehicles on the 2100 block of Westridge Road. A police report was filed and an officer on routine patrol came to the scene to examine the damaged vehicles.

Canyon News contacted Palisades Control who indicated that the driver of an Audi had allegedly rammed up against the two vehicles, got out of his car and informed the officer that he needed to make a doctor’s appointment. The officer had told him to not leave the scene, but the driver got back to his car regardless and drove off southbound towards Mandeville Canyon.

The driver eventually pulled over and told the police officer that he had three medical emergencies. He was taken to Saint John’s Health Center shortly after by the Fire Department and paramedics. The vehicle was relocated to a legally parked area in Mandeville Canyon.
