Animals, just as humans are also capable of loving and receiving love.
PACIFIC PALISADES—On Sunday, September 29, the Palisades Lutheran Church is providing a blessing service at 3 p.m. for pets and beloved animals.

This is the third annual “Blessing of the Animals” event held by the Palisades Lutheran Church. It was originally initiated by the church in order to recognize the creator in all living beings, including animals.

The Palisades Lutheran Church (PLC) stated on its official website, “Bring your favorite pet or a picture if they bite or are too fragile to travel to our event at 3 p.m., Sunday, September 29.  This new tradition is a lot of fun, a great way to meet pet-loving Palisadians, and a chance to remember St. Francis of Assisi, a very unusual 13th Century Christian.  This pre-Reformation saint, to whom is attributed ”˜St. Francis’ Prayer’ is inspiration to us all.”

Dogs are required to be on leashes during this service, since it is going to be conducted in an open space. The church is located at 5905 W. Sunset Blvd.
