PACIFIC PALISADES—Tom Hanks, actor and producer, 56, has listed his home in Pacific Palisades for $5.225 million.

The luxurious Spanish-style villa was built in 1929, and has four bedrooms and more than five bathrooms and a library. The villa features archways, delicate frescoed ceilings, a sky-lit kitchen and boasts of 6,289 square feet of living space as well as a beauty salon.

The spacious mansion also opens to a loggia and gardens, and sits behind tall hedges and a security wall that encircles the property for nearly one third of an acre. No photos are allowed of the property at all, and a real estate agent must accompany clients that want to tour the house at all times.

The listing agents for the property are Mary Lu Tuthill and Kathleen Tuthill of Coldwell Banker’s Brentwood office.

Hanks won two Oscars for his roles in “Forrest Gump” and “ Philadelphia.” He also received lead actor nominations for the films “Saving Private Ryan,” “Cast Away,” and “Big.” He was also the voice of Woody in the “Toy Story” movies. He played the role of symbolist Robert Langdon in “The Da Vinci Code” and its sequel “Angels & Demons.”

The house was sold for $1.9 million in 1988, according to public records.
