SANTA MONICA—More than 3,000 runners will participate in the eighth annual Santa Monica Classic, which includes a 5K and 10K race on Sunday, May 19. The event aims to support the conservation efforts of Heal the Bay.
Heal the Bay was founded in 1985 by a group of concerned citizens to fight for public safety and the health of the Santa Monica Bay. The organization has lead the effort to improve water quality in Southern California in the past years.
The 5K race will begin at 7:30 a.m., and the 10K race will begin at 8:00 a.m.. Runners will follow a scenic course along the streets of Santa Monica, with the race ending near the Santa Monica Pier.
Online registration for the event has closed. Late registration is still available at Packet Pick-Up and during the race in the morning.
