Al Michaels Arrested For DUI

SANTA MONICA—NBC sports announcer, Al Michaels, 68, was arrested for suspicion of DUI in Santa Monica on Friday, April 19 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Santa Monica police pulled Michaels over after he made an illegal U-turn, and was taken into custody after a breathalyzer indicated that his blood alcohol level met the .08 legal limit.
The Santa Monica police reported that Michaels remained at the station for about five hours before leaving on his own recognizant.
The ”˜Sunday Night Football' announcer’s court hearing has been schedule for June 26.
NBC reportedly released a statement confirming that they were aware of the arrest, and do not wish to comment further.
Michaels broadcasted “Monday Night Football” for ABC for nearly 20 years. He left ABC after 30 years of broadcasting to join the NBC sports team back in 2007.
Michaels was honored with the Vun Scully Lifetime Achievement Award in Sports Broadcasting just last year.
