Boy Stabbed After Football Game

SANTA MONICA—A high school football game ended in shock when a 17-year-old boy was stabbed while leaving the Santa Monica High School game on Friday, September 25. The victim was from Inglewood according to police.

 

Santa Monica High School was playing against Venice High School at Santa Monica College’s Corsair Field.  The game ended in defeat for Santa Monica High with a score of 31-28.  As the boy was leaving the stadium he was stabbed several times by an unknown attacker. 

 

The victim was transported to a local hospital and sustained non-life threatening injuries. 

 

Sgt. Jay Trisler with the Santa Monica Police Department told Canyon News that the incident is still under investigation and that they “have not identified any suspect as of yet.” 

 

The weapon used in the stabbing has also not been recovered, and so far the attack is not considered gang related, according to police.  

 

Investigators spent their Saturday questioning students and faculty who attended Friday’s game.  Officials are urging anyone with information on the attack to call the Santa Monica Police Department at 310-458-8427 those who wish to remain anonymous may call the Tip Line at 310-458-8449.
