Bridge falsework on Exposition Blvd., part of the Expo Light Rail Line project
SANTA MONICA—Phase two of the Expo Light Rail Line to Santa Monica is continuing with workers focusing on the intersection of Bundy Drive and Exposition Boulevard.
Construction on a new bridge began on Monday, April 15 and will go all the way through Thursday, May 16. All of the work will take place Sunday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. False work is currently being placed for the bridge that will hover over
Bundy Drive and is expected to be completed in about two weeks.
Although the intersection of
Bundy Drive and
Exposition Boulevard will remain open to both pedestrians and drivers, left turns will not be allowed within the intersection until the bridge is completed in May.
In addition, beginning April 21, the northbound and southbound streets on
Bundy Drive will only have one lane open each from Olympic Boulevard to
Tennessee Avenue. West bound and east bound lanes will not be affected.
This is part of a major city project that will make traveling easier and quicker with bridges being built in other parts of
Los Angeles including every major cross street that is located on the Expo Line Extension. This may cause traffic jams, however, since the construction is limited to evenings and early mornings, daytime travel should not be too heavily affected.
