SANTA MONICA—Beginning April 26, local residents can attend a five-week session every Friday to learn the art of basic homesteading with everyday items.
The five-week session will be taught by local owner of the Urban Craft Center and craft expert, Angharad Caceres, who will cover different crafting techniques each week. The classes will range in various techniques and lessons in papermaking, hand sewing, soap making and much more.
“Angharad Caceres is a lifelong crafter and until recently the owner of the Urban Craft Center in Santa Monica. Beginning with the Campfire group she belonged to in elementary school, she has dabbled in a huge variety of crafts (many of them glue gun dependent), but especially enjoys those that create objects with purpose,” as stated on the city’s official website. “Book binding, soap making, knitting, and sewing are at the top of her list.”
