SANTA MONICA—The trial for the slaying of Santa Monica model and aspiring actress Juliana Redding revealed evidence on Thursday, May 16 linking suspect Kelly Soo Park to the crime.
The prosecutor said DNA evidence found from Redding's neck, her cell phone, a stove knob and blood from a fingerprint in the home all belong to respondent Park.
Kelly Soo Park.
Stacy Okun-Wiese, Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney, told the jury, "Juliana Redding spent the last moments of her life literally fighting to save herself. Juliana Redding tried to fight off a woman. A woman she did not know.... a woman who needs to be held accountable for her actions."
Prosecutors said Park, 46, worked for a wealthy doctor as a debt collector, as someone who intimidated people. The doctor had dated Redding.
That doctor, Munir Uwaydah, Redding’s former boyfriend, was not charged in the case, although records show he paid Park $250,000 before the murder. Redding and Uwaydah broke up after she found out that he lied about his age and he was married.
This trial is still under process, so far there is no compelling evidence in favor of Park.
