Santa Monica—Elijah Wood, best known for his portrayal of Frodo in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy has decided to put his Santa Monica home up for sale. The three bedroom, two bathroom Spanish-style bungalow was built in 1924. The home is complete with a wood-burning fireplace and wood floors, not to mention a Victorian-style front door with British Brewery cast iron tiles in the foyer.

“It needs some work but it’s extremely gorgeous,” said Roya Kianmahd, the Keller Williams realtor who holds the listing. Wood’s home was most recently listed at $1,850,000 according to news reports. This places the home just above median values in the Santa Monica area. At 2,130 square feet, the home is fairly modest for the average celebrity.

The residence also includes coved walls and a circular tower entry way complete with French doors, lending the space a classic 1920s ambiance. Wood first bought the home from Dylan McDermott in 1999 for $1.45 million. The home has the traditional large living room, dining room, large den, an office and outside is a one bedroom one bath guest house.

Woods is currently working on the TV series “Wilfred” and filming “The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey.”
