Exhibit Celebrates Cross Cultures

SANTA MONICA—Qatar Foundation International will host an art exhibit celebrating both Arab and American cultures which opens on Monday, June 24.

The foundation, who's mission is dedicated to connecting cultures through education, will be hosting an exhibit called called “Aber: Expressions of Culture, Identity and Language” and features work from 60 high school students from Doha, Qatar, Portland, Oregon and Los Angeles.

The installation explores a world where stereotypes and misconceptions between the American and Arab cultures are broken and display the common bonds between the two cultures.

The exhibit will be open through July 13 at the ADC Contemporary & Building Bridges International Art Exchange at Bergamot Station.

The opening reception begins at 6:30 p.m. on June 24, and is free to the public. Omar Offendum, a Syrian-American hip hop artist, will give a special performance at the reception.
