SANTA MONICA
—The Santa Monica Public Library will be hosting selections from the Peter Norton Family Christmas Projects now until Sunday, December 23.

Peter Norton, a philanthropist and art collector (once a computer entrepreneur), started commissioning artists in 1988 to produce original works to have them sent as holiday greetings to friends and family instead of sending a card. Works from local, regional, national, and international artists make up The Norton Family Christmas Projects, including those of Brian Eno, Nina Katchadourian, Robert Lazzarini, Vik Muniz, Takashi Murakami, Marc Swanson, Mitchell Syrop, and Pae White.

The Norton Family Office is located in Santa Monica, and from now until just a couple days before Christmas, the public is welcome to enjoy holiday selections displayed on the 2nd floor of the Main Library at 601 Santa Monica Boulevard. Norton, who also serves at the California Institute of Arts, Reed College, Crossroads School (Santa Monica, CA), and as a trustee at MoMa (Museum of Modern Art), has been ranked as one of the top 200 collectors by ArtNews Magazine.
