The projects available to be viewed are done by artists such as: Brian Eno, Robert Lazzarini, Mitchel Syrop, Pae White, Nina Katchadourian, Vik Muniz, Takashi Murakami and Mark Swanson. Peter Norton is a retired computer entrepreneur, as well as an art collector and active philanthropist. The Norton family began to pay artists to paint innovative and multiple edition works. These paintings were to be mailed to friends, family and co-workers, and has been in effect since 1988. Between the year 1999 and 2001, Doris Sosin, a
Santa Monica community campaigner and art collector donated many of the works displayed in those years to the library. The donations were used to all the general public to view the artwork.
For people interested in visiting the Peter Family Christmas Projects in the main library via public transportation, the Big Blue Bus lines 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9 and 10 will go near the center. There are also bicycle racks on the north side of the building for people riding bikes. The main library is wheelchair accessible.
