Officials Seek Stabbing Suspect

SANTA MONICA—Officials have reported the stabbing of a 19-year-old man during an unprovoked attack in Santa Monica. Police are requesting the public's help in identifying the suspect.
The alleged incident occurred on August 13, when the alleged victim and his girlfriend reportedly left a restaurant on the 300 block of Santa Monica Blvd.
The couple walked towards FourthStreet and Santa Monica Blvd. where they encountered the unidentified man, who repeatedly stabbed the victim without apparent provocation.
The victim attempted to escape but was stabbed multiple times before he collapsed to the ground; the suspect reportedly ran southbound on FourthStreet towards Broadway and escaped.
Video surveillance captured the individual fleeing southbound through the Santa Monica Place Mall, from the entrance located at Thirdand Broadway.
Santa Monica Fire Department medical staff treated the teen, who was taken to a local trauma center to be treated for injuries not considered life-threatening.
The suspect is believed to be a Hispanic or dark-complected white male in his mid-30s; about 5'8'' in height; 180 lbs.; unshaven; wearing a dark painter's-styled cap; a dark T-shirt; dark shorts; and dirty white shoes.
