Santa Monica: Events In August

SANTA MONICA—As August rolls around, there is still plenty of summer left!  This August, there are many events to look forward to in Santa Monica, ranging from dance festivals and concerts, to wine tastings.  Here are a few highlighted events coming up this August.


The 28th Annual Twilight Dance Series:  The Santa Monica Twilight Concert Series continues through August and into the first week of September.  This local favorite event is in its 28th year and continues to bring fun, free, and diverse concerts to crowds stretching from the pier deck to the beach on perfect Los Angeles summer nights.  Check their website for a complete lineup at twilightseries.org/lineup/.


Summertaste Wine Tasting Series:  Wine Tasting occurs from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on the second Wednesday of every month through October in the Sonoma Wine Garden adjacent to the Third Street Promenade.  Enjoy food, wine, music and charity within an incredible setting.  Admission is $50 in advance, $60 on the day of the event, and $180 for the series.


Jazz on the Lawn 2012: Enjoy picnics, mild summer nights, and samplings of Jazz at the Jazz on the Lawn event every Sunday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Stewart Street Park.  The event is perfect for the entire family with frozen treats accompanying smooth jazz.  Parking, admission, and bike valet is free.


2012 World Olympics Viewing Event:  Come and watch the fastest man in the world compete in the 2012 Summer Olympics on August 11.  Have fun testing your own skills in a soccer demo area and record your fastest time in a speed test.  The event starts at 10am on the Third Street Promenade and is perfect for the entire family.
