SANTA MONICA—Fourth of July festivities will be begin in the early morning in Santa Monica with the seventh annual Santa Monica Fourth of July Parade.

This year the parade’s theme is “Who’s Your Hero?” and people are encouraged to dress up as their favorite hero, whether it be real or fictional.

The parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Santa Monica Civic center and will wind its way down Main Street before ending on Ocean Park Boulevard.

Organizers say that along with street closures, people can expect bus delays and detours on their morning commute.

After the parade, spectators can check out one of the parade after parties that will provide fun performances, music and food for the whole family.
