Student Poster Contest Raises Awareness

SANTA MONICAStudents from grades kindergarten to 12th will be able to show their artistic talents for a noble cause in the 5th annual Sustainable Santa Monica Student Poster Contest.

The purpose of the contest is to raise ideas and awareness for disabled individuals and their families to enjoy the outdoors and environment of the Santa Monica area. Original art can feature examples of how to gain accessibility to beaches, parks, or any areas in the community to help those disabled enjoy a great time with family and friends.


The contest is open to any student living or attending school in the Santa Monica area from grades kindergarten to high school. Artwork must be original and be drawn by hand or created using Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.

Santa Monica has founded a city plan of principles that has been intact since 1994 to protect the local resources and habitats for the community and environment. The contest is to expand the possibilities of disabled residents to partake in local activities with fellow residents.


Winners will be determined by four categories (grades kindergarten-second, third to fifth, sixth to eighth, and high school) and will also include a Grand Prize winner.
