Santa Monica News
SANTA MONICA—In response to the recent shootings in the community, most notably the Santa Monica College shooting, the city opened a Community Connections & Support Center on June 12.
The Community Connections & Support Center’s main goal is to help Santa Monica residents that were having trouble coping with the traumatic shootings of the recent past.
While the hours for the Center are shortening, Santa Monica is still aware of the many people that are still in need of counseling to deal with the traumatic events in the recent weeks. The center will continue to have regular hours for an unspecified duration.
The Community Connections & Support Center is located at 2200 Virginia Avenue. Current hours are Monday through Friday between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. For a referral to counseling, you may call between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Center provides informal chats, short counsel meetings, and if needed, referrals to places that can provide long term care.
