Teacher's Aid Charged With Sexual Battery

SANTA MONICA—A part-time instructional aid at Santa Monica High School was charged with misdemeanor sexual battery on a 15-year-old student.

The Santa Monica Police Department announced on Friday, February 1 that a female student reported Kevin Ramirez for grabbing on her buttocks. Ramirez, 34, is an instructional aid who was assigned to work with special education students.

City prosecutors filed the charge after the student's report which allegedly occurred on-campus. The police began their investigation on December 20.

Ramirez is scheduled to be arraigned on February 27 in Los Angeles Superior Court. He has not been arrested yet.
