Traffic Collision Kills Pedestrian

SANTA MONICA — Police responded to a traffic collision that ended in a fatality on Wednesday, October 9, shortly after midnight.

 

The Santa Monica Police Department revealed in a press release that a 54-year-old man was struck by an oncoming vehicle while crossing Lincoln Boulevard.

The 34-year-old female driver claimed she did not see the man until the collision had already occurred. The woman was cooperative during the initial investigation, according to police. Following an interview and a determination that she was not on any drugs or alcohol at the time, the driver was released.

 

The pedestrian, a resident from Culver City, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released to the public.
