Twin Brothers Arrested In Stabbing Accident

SANTA MONICA—Twin brothers Anthony and
Conrad Sowash, 28, have been charged for allegedly stabbing a man with a knife
near the 3000 block of Santa Monica Boulevard on Thursday, July 4. Witnesses
have reported to authorities that there was a fight prior to the stabbing.
Police officers found the
victim sitting on a curb near Busby’s West Sports Bar, tending to his wounds
with his shirt to apply pressure. The police brought paramedics to the
scene, and the victim was also interviewed. According to the victim,
he was walking towards the bar when he came across two men and two women
standing next to a silver vehicle.
One of the women asked for
a cigarette, which he provided. At that time, one of the brothers allegedly
asked the victim and his friends where they were from, to which the victim
responded by saying they lived near the San Fernando Valley.
The victim claims his
response to the question resulted in one of the brothers punching him in
the face, while the other pulled out a knife that was approximately four to six
The victim and his group
began running, according to authorities. The suspects chased the alleged victim
across Santa Monica Boulevard, and Anthony Sowash slashed the man’s neck while
he was chasing the victim. The victim suffered a second, brutal slash to the
neck as he turned towards Anthony in an attempt to defend himself.
Police detained the two
women who were also involved in the incident, as witnesses claimed
that they attempted to flee the scene of the crime by driving off in their car.
Witnesses also reported that the women allegedly struck the man with a chain.
Police have identified the women as Cynthia Gallardo, 20, and Jazmine Fattouh,
22, of Culver City.
Canyon News contacted Sgt.
Richard Lewis regarding information about the suspects’ charges and current
bail. Suspect one, Anthony, has been charged with attempted murder and
assault with a deadly weapon, with a bail amount of $1 million, according to
Sgt. Lewish. Suspect two, Conrad, has been charged with a charge of misdemeanor
and battery, with a bail of $1000. The Sowash brothers are charged with attempted
murder and conspiracy to commit a crime.Gallardo and Fattouh have also been charged for assault and battery and
their bail has been set at $20,000 each. The women were released on
their own recognizance, but they are expected back in court on July 19,
indicated the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was transported
to a local trauma centre and is expected to recover, despite his injuries.
