Two Cars Collide On PCH In Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA—A car crash on the Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica led to police shutting down a section of the highway for about three hours on Thursday, February 21.

The accident occurred at approximately 12:22 p.m. when a vehicle was making a suspected right turn out of a country club on the 200 block of PCH was struck by a vehicle driving southbound on the PCH.
Two people were taken to a nearby hospital where one is reportedly in critical condition while the other has moderate to severe injuries.
Authorities stated drugs or alcohol are not believed to have played a factor in the crash. however, the investigation is ongoing.
Traffic was heavy on the PCH, I-10 and downtown Santa Monica while police worked the scene of the crash. All I-10 traffic going westbound was diverted towards the exit at Fourth and Fifth streets in Santa Monica, all northbound lanes were closed and one southbound lane was closed until about 3 p.m.
