SANTA MONICA—The city can be seen as a runway for the weekend of April 27-28 with its annual Vintage Fashion Expo for both men and women.
Since 1988, the Vintage Fashion Expo has been taking place in different parts of the country to showcase older clothes, accessories and fashion styles to the modern public. The expo features clothing, dolls and toys from the past for women, children and men. Still running 24 years later, this expo has been regarded the largest and varied vintage show in the nation.
The expos have five shows in California, beginning in San Francisco to the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium and have up to 100 dealers who display fashion and accessories ranging all the way 125 years ago. The vintage expo is targeted to individuals who appreciate and seek influence from generations that include the Victorian era to the roaring twenties.
The official website reads that “For twenty years we have excelled in having a show which is fun for dealers and patrons and which treats both groups to a well-run Expo which attracts outstanding dealers with truly unique offerings.”
The expo will run as early as 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday’s expo will run from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission will be $10 for regular hours. For those looking to get an earlier session from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. can pay $20 for admission.
