SHERMAN OAKS—The Sherman Oaks Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 22nd annual Sherman Oaks Street Fair on Sunday, October 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The fair, held on the third Sunday of every October, runs down Ventura Blvd. from Kester to Van Nuys Blvd. and is sponsored by Galpin Ford, Westfield Fashion Square, Ralphs, Whole Foods, TJ Maxx and others. With an estimated 100,000 visitors, the Chamber of Commerce proclaims the street fair to be the largest outdoor event in the San Fernando Valley.
For eight hours, the fair will provide a variety of events and features for locals to enjoy. According to the official website, the objective is to bring together civic and community leaders, businesses and school children. As a result of the fair, the Sherman Oaks Chamber of Commerce has donated over $400,000 of event proceeds to local public schools.
There will be two stages displayed for performances throughout the day. One stage will be for headlining musical performances featuring local bands or singers while the community stage will include student performances as well as a Pet Expo from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Pet Expo will have a contest with prizes handed out for Best Pet Costume and Best Pet Trick. In between musical performances, the Westfield Fashion Square Fashion Show will feature models displaying the season’s hottest fashions from shops on Ventura Boulevard and shops at Westfield Fashion Square.
